jpnn.comJAKARTA – Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Public Prosecutor Meyer Simanjuntak considers the legal advisor and family of the Minister of Agriculture for the 2019-2023 period Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) to be inconsistent in providing information.

The prosecutor saw this from SYL’s defense memo (plea).

He explained that the inconsistent attitude was reflected in SYL and his legal advisor who admitted that they were aware of the receipt of money and payment facilities received by SYL, but this admission was at odds with the defense which asked for SYL to be released.

“How is that possible? On the one hand, there is an admission of accepting bribes, but on the other hand, it is asking for the recipient of the bribe to be freed from the clutches of the law,” said Meyer during the hearing of the public prosecutor’s response to the defendant’s defense (replicant) at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday (8/7).

In a conscious state, Meyer said that SYL’s legal advisor admitted that SYL had received money from his subordinates and therefore requested that the person who gave the money also be processed legally using the bribery article.

In addition, SYL’s legal advisor also acted as a spokesperson for SYL’s family, stating that he was ready and willing to return the money enjoyed by SYL’s family.

This readiness was followed up by the return of some of the proceeds of corruption enjoyed by the SYL family.

However, strangely, he said in the defense note, the legal advisor asked that the money that had been deposited by the family into the KPK’s escrow account be returned to SYL’s family.

The KPK prosecutor said that SYL’s legal advisor admitted that SYL had received money from his subordinates.
