Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said that the quota activists are working on the prescription of BNP-Jamaat. He urged the students to be careful about this.

He made this comment at a discussion meeting organized at the National Press Club on Wednesday (July 17). Bangladesh Independence Forum organized this discussion meeting on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s imprisonment day.

The foreign minister said, ‘Sheikh Hasina was arrested on July 16, 2007 without a warrant. Arrested not only him but also shackled the feet of democracy. The military junta arrested him. Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia were released in the people’s movement. Democracy is released. Awami League won the 2008 election. Those Kushilabs of One Eleven are still active. They want to create chaos in the country. Just as BNP-Jamaat has no power, they also have no power. Wants to destabilize the country by mixing with others.’

Referring to the quota movement, Hashan Mahmud said, ‘Students are doing anti-quota movement without understanding. Showing sympathy for the students, the government abolished the quota. There was no quota in the last few exams. Everyone has the right to go to court. Anyone can go. One of them goes to the High Court to get back the quota. The High Court has ruled against the government to restore the quota. The High Court ruled against the government, and the movement is also against the government. However, the Supreme Court overturned the High Court verdict. According to the Supreme Court’s ruling, there is no quota now. Even after knowing this, they are agitating indiscriminately, misrepresenting and involving them.’

‘BNP-Jamaat is coming in and fixing the program of the students’ movement. BNP-Jamaat is the cause of anarchy in the country yesterday.’

He also said, ‘Chittagong has cut a vein. Whose job is to cut the vein? of the camp Chhatra League leaders and activists were thrown from the roof. I saw that one of the students died. What is his job there? That means BNP-Jamaat has entered the quota movement. Yesterday, BNP-Jamaat wanted bodies to be created in the quota movement. They are trying to muddy the waters by making corpses. Yesterday the quota agitators did not give any program. At around 12:30 pm Gaibana Janaza, coffin procession program. It is not the program of the quota activists. This program is on the advice of BNP-Jamaat. They gave this program by contacting them. They have now become puppets of BNP-Jamaat. I will not allow the country to be destabilized by exploiting people’s sentiments.

Hasan Mahmud said, the bus was set on fire yesterday. Vandalized motorcycles, attacked metro rail. These are not the work of ordinary students. BNP-Jamaat came in and did these activities. They have now become hand puppets. Prime Minister sympathizes with students. By distorting the Prime Minister’s speech, Dhaka University raised slogans in favor of Razakars. Those who raised these slogans have been identified. They do not have the spirit of the liberation war.’

He said, ‘BNP-Jamaat is trying to destabilize the field by relying on the program of quota movement. We won’t let that happen. Tariq Rahman orders to enter the movement. Those who are agitating about the quota are no longer in your hands. robbed Your leaders have sold out. BNP-Jamaat wanted the body and got it. Their cadres carried out terrorist activities and killed 6 people. The government is investigating. Action will be taken against those involved as per law. Request to students wait till final verdict. The government sympathizes with you. But your movement has been hijacked by BNP-Jamaat. You will be careful. Your leaders have sold out to BNP. BNP-Jamaat’s prescription is working.’

The matter is pending in the Supreme Court. Stating that the government cannot interfere here, Hasan Mahmud urged the students to be patient till then. He also urged them not to become puppets of BNP-Jamaat.

Awami League’s Industry and Trade Committee member Lion Moshiur Ahmed chaired the discussion meeting, where Minister of State for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Abdul Wadud Dara, agriculturist Awlad Hossain MP, advocate Balram Poddar and others were present.
