This was reported by Reuters, which is based on the eurointegration portal.

On Friday night, Mr. Kennedy Jr. announced that he was not running, and joined Mr. Trump at a campaign event in Arizona to express his support for him.

Kennedy, 70, said he would remove his name from the ballot in 10 key states but remain a candidate in others.

D. Trump, in turn, said that R. Kennedy Jr. “inspires millions of Americans and raises critical issues that have been ignored in this country for too long.”

Mr. Trump also promised that if he wins the election, he will form a presidential commission on assassination attempts and release documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

Earlier, Mr. Kennedy said he had met several times with Mr. Trump and his team and realized that they agreed on issues such as border security, free speech and “ceasing wars,” although they disagreed on many other issues.

The candidate’s sister, Kerry Kennedy, commented on his decision, saying it was a “sad end to a sad story” and that Kennedy Jr. had “betrayed family values” by supporting Trump.

Kennedy Jr.’s campaign has struggled financially in recent weeks, with his national approval ratings hovering around 3 percent.

He criticized American aid to Ukraine and held the United States responsible for “provoking” Moscow to invade the country.
