This initiative, organized by the AI Movement of UM6P, the OCP Foundation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has paved the way for African women in the fields of technology, innovation and artificial intelligence.
Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar stressed that Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI has made significant progress in the enshrinement of women’s rights in all areas.
She also noted that Morocco is a pioneer country in Africa in the field of artificial intelligence, noting that this technology contributes to the empowerment of women and also allows them to develop new skills to easily integrate into the labor market.
For her part, the executive president of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence of Morocco, “AI Movement”, under the UM6P, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni indicated that the program welcomed this year 80 women from 28 African countries, and focused, for two weeks, on the phases of training, incubation and support.
She also said that the participants presented a series of proposals for artificial intelligence projects to address issues related to the condition of African women, but also technological solutions to try to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa, in addition to issues related to agriculture, health, nutrition and education and training.
During this Summer Camp, 80 participants had the opportunity to network and participate in training workshops and specialized courses led by researchers and experts.
Ai Mouvement – UM6P is a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence that aims to promote the emergence of Moroccan expertise in artificial intelligence and data sciences and to anticipate and support developments and transformations related to AI and data sciences.
