The attribution of this edition to Morocco was decided unanimously, Wednesday in Venice (Italy), by a committee composed of members of the World Karate Federation (WKF), as well as representatives of each participating country.
In a statement to MAP, the president of the FRMK, Mohamed Mouktabil, indicated that “this choice reflects the confidence placed in Morocco to guarantee the success of this global event.”
This prestigious sporting event will bring together the best young karate athletes in the world, said Mr. Mouktabil, noting that the choice of the Kingdom to host this international competition “is based on its remarkable skills in organizing major sporting events.”
Morocco, he continued, has demonstrated its expertise and know-how, making the Kingdom a destination of choice for high-level competitions.
Mr. Mouktabil, in this sense, underlined that Morocco has quality sports infrastructures, capable of hosting an event of such scale, and offering participants and spectators modern facilities and an exceptional setting.
A Moroccan delegation made up of around twenty athletes, boys and girls, is taking part in the Cadet Karate – Junior & U21 world championships in Venice. More than 2,000 karatekas representing 113 countries participate in this global competition.
