As part of the 17th edition of the Agdal-Riyadh Spring Festival, this event, which continues until August 4, was an opportunity for the Rabat-based artist to present a series of captivating paintings with their colors and mixed techniques.

“Whispers” reveals the painter’s messages on several subjects, including the three dimensions of life (past, present and future) and raises awareness of the importance of environmental protection and optimal management of water resources.

In this regard, the artist told MAP that she hopes, through the exhibition “Chuchotements”, to raise awareness of the different dimensions of “our existence and the importance of preserving our environment”, believing that her works are a reflection on “our past, our present and our future, and a call to collective consciousness”.

Houda Benjelloun said she favored a bold approach in the choice of themes and colors, noting that each painting contains its own message intended for the general public.

She thus expressed her joy at participating, for the second time, in the Agdal-Riyadh Spring Festival, expressing the wish to see this kind of artistic initiatives duplicated to promote art in general and the artistic creativity of budding talents in particular.

Born in Rabat in 1990, Houda Benjelloun is a self-taught visual artist and medical electro-radiology technician. Her passion for art led her to explore unique techniques, making her the first visual artist to paint underwater and at an altitude of 900 meters in the sky.

The Agdal-Riyadh Spring Festival, organized by the Agdal-Riyadh District Council under the theme “Rabat, land of lights and cultural blending”, is in line with the High Royal Directives making Rabat a City of Lights and aims to honor the intangible heritage of the Kingdom.

The Festival featured a diverse programme, including intellectual seminars, artistic performances, poetry readings, openings, sports competitions, targeted entertainment activities, workshops for children and young people, as well as social and humanitarian initiatives.
