On this occasion, an agreement was signed between the son of the deceased, Nafis Benchekroun and the director of the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mohamed El Ferrane, under which the Benchekroun family donates to the BNRM the documentary collection bequeathed by the deceased.

In a statement to MAP, Mr. El Ferrane, who described the deceased as a “cultural and intellectual monument”, highlighted the significant contribution of the late Benchekroun to the human sciences and his pioneering contribution to scientific research, expressing his gratitude to the family of this great author for having donated some 7,000 works to the national library, in addition to the academic archives that the deceased made a point of making available to researchers.
