Rabbi Deitch at the orphanage
A special guest came from Jerusalem to strengthen the children at the ‘Family’ orphanage in Odessa, Ukraine. The Chasidic genius Rabbi Haim Shalom Deitch, one of the Chabad rabbis and head of the ‘Tzemach Tzedek’ group in Jerusalem, made a special visit to the orphanage that has undergone upheavals in the past two years and was closely exposed to the amazing educational institution.
Rabbi Deitch was received by the director of the orphanage and the rabbi’s messenger, Rabbi Avraham Wolff, who thanked him very warmly for the great effort he made to reach out to strengthen the children, during the state of war, which has been non-stop, for the past two days.
After a difficult weekend of shelling, Rabbi Deitch strengthened the children of ‘Mishpa’ and shared with them his childhood experiences, under the shells of the Jordanian army in Jerusalem.
The children shared with the influential the experiences they have been going through since the outbreak of the war and how much Rabbi Wolf, his wife and the dedicated staff, do as much as they can to give them a warm and enlightening sense of home.
During the visit, Rabbi Deitch received from Rabbi Wolf, who also serves as Rabbi of Southern Ukraine, a comprehensive overview of the expansion of the orphanage, including the inauguration of the new building last month.
