At the age of 93, the late Rabbi Avraham Shloshe, who served as the Chief Rabbi of Kfar Saba for over sixty years and was the elder of the rabbis in Eretz Israel, passed away this morning.

Baruch Dayan HaAmet: This morning comes the news of the good return of the old rabbi of Eretz Israel, the late Rabbi Avraham Shloshe, who served as rabbi of the city of Kfar Saba for over sixty years, and is 93 years old at his death.

The late Rabbi, was born in 1905, in the Old City of Jerusalem, to his father, the late Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Shlush, who was the rabbi of the Western community in Jerusalem, one of the heads of the Porat Yosef Yeshiva and a member of the Chief Rabbinical Council. Was a famous Rosh Yeshiva in Marrakesh, Morocco.

In his election, he studied and meditated on the Torah at the Porat Yosef Yeshiva in the Old City, until the fall of the quarter, when he moved to study at the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva.

Over the years he was appointed chief rabbi of the city of Kfar Saba, where he was the mirror of Datra for all the spiritual affairs of the city. For years he served as a rabbi alongside the Ashkenazi Mira Datra Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Pinchas Shir ztl.

In 1956, the great Rabbi David Shloshe, rabbi of the city of Netanya, died after him for 63 years. He died at the age of 96.

The funeral procession today (Friday, the eve of Shabbat Kodesh Parshat Makatz – Shabbat Hanukkah) at 12:30 in Jerusalem and the exact location will be updated later.
