People’s lives have been miserable in the United States for a few weeks after the extreme cold took hold. But humans have developed many mechanisms to protect themselves from the cold. However, this is not the case with other species. Birds are trapped in extreme cold without shelter. Due to the coldness of the body, they get into many accidents. Footage of a raccoon in such an accident is coming out of Georgia.

This is the scene of a raccoon trapped after its body fur froze and stuck to the railway tracks. The fur on the underside of the raccoon’s body got stuck to the railway track. But it is unclear how the raccoon ended up on the railway tracks. Railway officials found the terrified raccoon unable to move from the tracks. Realizing that the raccoon’s life would be in danger if the raccoon was not removed as soon as the train arrived, the officials began rescue operations.

Officer Neil Mullis led the rescue operations. The first attempt to lift the raccoon was unsuccessful. With no other option, hot water was poured on the lower part of the raccoon’s body. As the snow on its fur melted, it was able to move. Later, the raccoon was lifted with a shovel. The raccoon’s body was completely freed within five minutes.

Immediately after being rescued, the raccoon ran away to the nearby forest. Pictures and footage of the raccoon being trapped and its rescue have been released. Although generally not a nuisance, raccoons can become aggressive in situations where life seems to be in danger. So Neil and his team say they handled the raccoon with extreme care. They have thick fur to protect them from the cold. Although this helps to regulate the body temperature, there is also a risk of such danger due to freezing of the fur.

Raccoons generally do not venture into open areas. But due to deforestation, they tend to enter populated areas in search of safety and food. Railway officials say that this is how the raccoon that was involved in the accident also came to the railway track. The temperature in the area was minus 12 degrees Celsius on the day of the incident. It was concluded that the raccoon’s fur stuck to the tracks while moving along the railway tracks.
