Racial abuse; Cricket South Africa announces probe against Smith and Boucher

by time news

Cape Town: Cricket South Africa has announced an investigation into former South African cricket team director and former captain Graeme Smith and coach Mark Boucher. The investigation follows allegations of racial slurs.

Several players, including former South African spinner Paul Adams, have previously revealed that they have been subjected to racial discrimination and mistreatment. Paul Adams has revealed that players, including Boucher, used to call him ‘brown shit’ when he played for South Africa. After this, Boucher apologized to Adams.

The ombudsman submitted its report earlier this month. The report states that Graeme Smith, Boucher and AB de Villiers ignored black players in team selection. But Smith and De Villiers have denied the allegations.
