OWN. Just like in Germany at the recent European football championships the song “Love Always” by Gigi D’Agostino it was also banned in several municipalities in Bassa Atesina (from Egna to Termeno) because the song was associated with expressions close to the far right.
The previous one, in Egna, dates back to Portici festival (Laubenfest) in August when a racist chorus started to the tune of the offending song: “Germany for the Germans, foreigners out” or, in Italian: «Germany for the Germans, foreigners out». The case landed in the city council and the mayor Karin Jost responded to a question on the topic from Green councilor Sadbhavana Pfaffstaller who also hoped to see the images of the evening.
The first citizen explained that she had also taken action by involving the manager of the Youth Center Jugend Cultura Unterland: «The result of this conversation – explained Jost – is that the week following our party an event which involved the involvement of the same DJ was canceled a neighboring municipality (Termeno ed.). We have no images of that evening.”

The press tracked down and shamed the “Sylt snobs”, who were fired by their employers. Now even the Bassa has decided to raise its guard.
