Nadal tweeted that he was going through some unhappy moments and hoped to recover soon. Nadal said he would clarify his participation in future tournaments after recovering from his illness.
Hi all. I wanted to announce that on my return home after playing the Abu Dhabi tournament, I have tested positive for COVID in the PCR test that was performed on me when I arrived in Spain.

Nadal said that during the exhibition tournaments in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, all PCR tests were negative and last Friday’s test results were negative. Nadal said he had provided information to those who had contacted him.
Nadal returns to court after suffering an injury after the City Open in Washington in August. Nadal has been sidelined for four months after suffering a foot injury. Nadal missed the Wimbledon, Tokyo Olympics and the US Open due to injury after being knocked out in the semifinals of the French Open.
The player’s participation in the Australian Open in January next year is also in doubt as he will have to undergo training and other preparations due to Kovid’s injury. Nadal said it was not immediately clear whether he would attend the Australian Open.
