Rafael supplied naval combat suits to the Philippines

by time news

The Philippine Navy recently put into operational service two FAIC-M (Sheldag 5) ships made by Israel Shipyards, which include a naval combat suit made by Rafael – the giant company that develops advanced combat systems in the air, at sea, on land and in space.

The ships supplied to the Philippine Navy will be the first vessels to feature a full naval combat suit. In total, the Philippine Navy will receive a total of 9 vessels by the end of 2024. The scope of the project is estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars.

Rafael’s naval combat suit includes a command and control system, Typhoon and mini-Typhoon remote controlled weapon positions, SeaCom (internal network) and Binet (external network) communication systems, naval spike missiles and other components that include training, support and maintenance. It is based on technology and systems proven on the battlefield, based on extensive operational experience in Israel and around the world.

Ran Tabor, VP and head of the Naval Combat Systems Department at Rafael: “This agreement is another example of Rafael’s ability to integrate its most advanced defense solutions into a variety of naval platforms.”

Rafael is an engine of economic growth for the State of Israel. It transfers 50% of its profits to the state coffers every year. Since becoming a business company, it has transferred to the state dividends in the amount of approximately NIS 2 billion. It is the largest employer in the north – 8,000 employees in total.
