Raffaele Chiulli re-elected President of the Arisf

The world sports community gathered for the ARISF General Assembly to reflect on the united front of sport in the face of last year’s challenges and vote on the election of the ARISF President and Council for the period 2021-2025. Raffaele Chiulli, President of the UIM (International Powerboating Federation) was unanimously re-elected President of the ARISF (Association of Ioc Recognized International Sport Federations) for another four-year term by the ARISF General Assembly and will begin his third term at the head of the organization he has led since 2013. “I am honored by the trust received from all International Sports Federations which represents a tangible recognition of the hard work done. I am particularly grateful to the International Olympic Committee with whom our relations and collaboration are excellent “.

The ARISF General Assembly also confirmed the re-election of the President of the International Diving Federation Anna Arzhanova as Vice President while the President of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation Riccardo Fraccari was re-elected General Secretary. Joining them on the Arisf Council are Claire Briegal of the World Netball, John Lijlelund of the International Floorball Federation and Tom Hollowell of the International Orienteering Federation. President Chiulli welcomed the six new Federations from the last General Assembly – the International Cheerleading Union, International Federation of Muaythai Associations, International Sambo Federation, International Icestocksport Federation, World Association of Kickboxing Organizations and World Lacrosse – into the sports family of Arisf.

The General Assembly was attended by distinguished guests such as Ivo Ferriani (GAISF President), Francesco Ricci Bitti (ASOIF President) and Kit McConnell (CIO Sports Director). “It was an honor to have such sport leaders speak at the ARISF General Assembly. The organization includes all IFs recognized by the International Olympic Committee and it is important to interact openly and constructively with all the interested parties of the Olympic Movement “, said Chiulli who concluded the General Assembly by congratulating the newly elected councilors and thanking everyone for their valued collaboration and support. “Finally, let me say that we must all do our part to make sure we get through this crisis together.
