Surya starrer ‘Jaybeam’ was recently released and was a huge success. It is noteworthy that after that, help was accumulated for Parvathi Ammal. In particular, actor and director Raghav Lawrence met Parvati’s mother in person and promised to build a house for her. Raghav Lawrence said there was a slight change in the situation now. In a statement, he said:
After learning that Parvathi Ammal, the wife of Rasakkannu, the true protagonist of ‘Jaybeam’, was living in poverty, I promised to build a house for Parvathi Ammal at my own expense.
I met Parvathi’s mother in person and told her about it. They also said that Parvathi Ammal’s daughter has land in Keela Natham village near Wickramangala in Ariyalur district and asked her to build a house there.
Accordingly, a few days ago, we went to the village of Keelanatham and visited the land to build a house. While trying to start work on a house soon, I was delighted to learn on television that Parvathy Amma was to build a house for her mother on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
I extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, His Excellency MK Stalin, for recognizing the present poverty of Parvathi Amma and for offering her a place to live.
I have decided to give two lakhs each to Parvathi Ammal, her daughter, and her two sons, along with the 5 lakhs I have set aside for building a house for Parvathi Ammal.
Mr. Surya, Ms. Jyotika, Director, Mr. த.செ. Let us remember with gratitude all those who are wise.
