The heartbreaking story of Raghavendra, a 9th standard student from Sarvanthankal, has taken a tragic turn. Raghavendra, the youngest son of the Arul-Parimala couple, was involved in a serious accident on the Arkadu-Arani road, resulting in him becoming brain dead after being admitted to CMC Hospital and receiving treatment for 10 days.

However, amidst the grief of losing their son, Raghavendra’s parents made a selfless decision that will bring hope and new life to many others. They agreed to donate their son’s organs, allowing his heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys to be sent to different hospitals for transplantation.

The gesture of organ donation by Raghavendra’s parents has not gone unnoticed. Handloom and Textiles Minister Gandhi, District Collector Varamati, and Arcot Assembly Member Easwaran paid their respects to Raghavendra’s body, expressing their admiration for the family’s decision.

The parents, who were initially unaware of organ donation, tearfully shared their experience with the minister and how they were only made aware of the option by the doctors. Moved by their story, the minister bowed down in tears, expressing his deep emotions and gratitude for their selfless act.

It is also noted that the funeral of organ donors will now be conducted with state honor, thanks to Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s announcement, leading to an increase in organ donation.

The tragic loss of Raghavendra has now become a beacon of hope for those awaiting organ transplantation, as his parents’ decision to donate his organs will leave a lasting impact on many lives.
