Ragusa – As the renewal date for the assignment of the environmental hygiene service of the capital city approaches, the Il Carrubo club of Legambiente Ragusa Aps, chaired by Angelo Rinollo, addresses a pressing request to the municipality, specifically to the competent councilor, to the mayor himself and to the head of the Sector. In fact, in truth there are two requests, made with official letters within a very short time of each other. Letters requesting the application of very specific legislative norms, without hiding regret and a not so veiled reproach because they have not been applied despite similar requests from six years ago.
The first of these requests concerns the establishment of the Service Quality Charter, expressly provided for by Law 244/2007 together with the obligation to consult consumer associations; the second instead refers to Regional Law 9/2010 which “assigns municipalities the task of verifying the state of implementation of separate waste collection and the quality of the service provided by the managing entity, also through an independent committee made up of representatives of environmental associations, consumers and civic committees”. In short, all legislative dictates that have so far been ignored by the municipality of Ragusa. Therefore, in the second letter, the president of Legambiente Ragusa Angelo Rinollo concludes “to date this independent committee has not been established and the associations have not been involved.
Since the current management will soon expire and a new tender will be held, we ask you to urgently set up the independent committee so as to make it operational before the new manager arrives. We also take this opportunity to ask you for an urgent meeting on the new project at the base of the next tender so as to examine it and give our contribution: we have in fact noted with regret that three months after the delivery of the project by the designers, the guidelines are still not even known”.
