(Asim Siddiq) There have been reports of an attack on the police mobile by bandits with a rocket launcher in Rahim Yar Khan’s Machhaka area, in which 12 police personnel were martyred, 7 injured and 4 missing.
According to the police, robbers attacked a police convoy near Machchka police camp two in Kachcha area. When the police car broke down, the robbers surrounded and attacked.
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack of the police convoy in Rahim Yar Khan and expressed his condolences to the families of the martyred policemen. While saying that attacks on the police and law enforcement agencies will not be tolerated, the President paid tribute to the martyred policemen and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on the policemen’s car by the robbers and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the policemen. Along with the prayer, he prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured personnel, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed that the injured police personnel should be provided with the best medical facilities, immediate and effective action should be taken against the attackers in the Kacha area.
The Prime Minister pointed out those responsible for the attack and directed them to be punished truly and said that the police officers and men stop the crimes of criminals and saboteurs without caring for their lives, including me, the entire nation’s police. Tributes to the brave and dutiful officers and men.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz also expressed her deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of policemen in the attack of raw material robbers. An operation was ordered to recover the personnel, and the injured police personnel were also directed to provide the best medical aid. The sacrifice of police personnel will always be remembered.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister Punjab directed the Interior Secretary Punjab to reach the Kacha area. The Interior Secretary Noor Ul Amin Mengal will supervise the crackdown against the attackers in the Kacha area. Directing the operation, IG Punjab, Additional IG Special Branch and Additional IGC CTD will also be accompanied by the Home Secretary, those who attacked the police will be brought to a decisive end.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IGC CTD, along with senior officers left for Rahim Yar Khan. So far, the martyrdom of 09 personnel has been confirmed, reports have also been received that most of the police personnel were injured in the attack.
