Thanjavur: Thousands of devotees thronged to pay homage to Lord Rahu at the Rahu shift ceremony at Thirunageswaram yesterday, the site of Rahu Tosha Parikara.
Thanjavur district, Kumbakonam next to Thirunageswaram, is home to the Naganatha Swami Temple with Kriguzambika, a shrine dedicated to Lord Rahu, worshiped by Lord Rahu.
In order to get rid of the curse, Rahu worshiped Naganatha Swami in Thirunageswaram on four levels and got rid of the curse on Rahu.
