Rahul Gandhi disqualified; No more MP; The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued the notification

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification disqualifying Rahul Gandhi. The Secretariat has issued the notification in view of the court’s verdict in the caste abuse case. The notification states that the disqualification came into effect from Thursday when the court verdict was released.

Last day, Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in prison for making abusive remarks against the backward community of Modi. The judgment was of the Surat court in Gujarat. The judgment is under Sections 499 and 500 of the IPC on the basis of a finding of oral or written defamation.

Rahul Gandhi insulted the Modi community at a rally held in Kolar, Karnataka as part of the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign. Rahul’s remark was how all thieves come from Modi community. On April 13, 2019, Rahul Gandhi insulted the Modi community by targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP leader Purnesh Modi filed the case in the court.
