New Delhi: Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the third day in a row on Wednesday due to the intense tension between the ruling party and the opposition over Rahul Gandhi’s London speech and the Adani Group issue.
The second phase of the budget session began on Monday, March 13. Right from the day the session started, the opposition parties and the ruling party over the Adani issue and the ruling party over Rahul Gandhi’s London speech were involved in both the Houses of Parliament. Due to this, both the Houses were adjourned throughout the day for the last two days. In this situation, when Lok Sabha proceedings started on the third day today, the opposition parties got involved. They were thus adjourned until the afternoon shortly after their commencement. Shortly thereafter, the Rajya Sabha was also adjourned till noon.
Paralysis for third day: When proceedings resumed in the afternoon in the Lok Sabha, the ruling party raised slogans demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi. In response, the opposition demanded an inquiry into the Adani affair. The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the whole day due to this emergency.

Opposition Rally: Following the adjournment of both the Houses in the morning, opposition parties marched out of Parliament to file a complaint with the Enforcement Directorate on the Adani issue. Earlier, before Parliament convened, opposition leaders met in the Leader of the Opposition’s chamber in Parliament to discuss a joint decision on the Adani issue. According to the decision taken in it, they went to the rally.
The opposition was stopped by the police as they marched without permission. Earlier, police had been deployed for security on the road outside Parliament. Similarly, Prohibitory Order 144 was also passed before Parliament.
Democracy is dug and buried: “What this government is doing in Parliament is a testimony to the erosion of democracy in the country. The Modi government is undermining and weakening government democracy to save a businessman,” Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinade said.
