In the context of the ongoing campaigns to arrest illegal immigrants, the Garyounis Police Station in Benghazi raided a house under construction in the Tariya area on the outskirts of the city, which was being used as a den for illegal immigration.

Benghazi Security Directorate explained, “The security force seized inside the house under construction a number of illegal immigrants of different nationalities, a number of plastic gallons filled with fuel, and a fishing boat equipped with an engine.”

The directorate added, “The migrants admitted that they were preparing to migrate by sea using a fishing boat and stated that the person who made the arrangements and received the money for the purpose of smuggling them was a Palestinian national.”

According to the statement, “Following the migrants’ confessions about the Palestinian person, the security force moved and prepared a tight ambush for him and was able to arrest him, so he also confessed to what was attributed to him, and they were all referred to the competent authorities.”
