The 7th edition of the raid, which continues until March 20, this year brings together women from different backgrounds who take part in an arduous competition for eight days, in support of several social causes.
To do this, good organization, before, during, and after the event, is essential to successfully complete all stages of the competition and ensure the smooth running of this extraordinary experience.
Thus, the co-founder of Sahraouiya, Driss Snoussi affirmed, in a statement to the press, that the 7th edition is taking place in exceptional conditions because of the covid-19 pandemic, highlighting the contribution of local authorities for the holding of this event.
He also indicated that organizing an event of this magnitude is a long-term job, ensuring that the priority was first to organize the protocols with the regional health delegate.
“We have also given priority to all local services in terms of logistics and other services,” he added, noting that around 50 journalists, both local, national and international, came to provide media coverage of the event.
In terms of the technical team, he noted that it consists of 20 people who are specialists in raids, who ensure the safety and health of the participants, then around 70 people working day and night to ensure the comfort of all the Sahraouiya staff, stressing that good organization is the secret of Sahraouiya’s success from year to year.
For his part, the transport manager of Sahraouiya, Haydala Ahenane, said that he manages a team of 8 people who take care of transporting the participants, the journalists, the technical team and all the staff of Sahraouiya.
He also said that they work in several events held in the region, indicating that this event is of great importance for the entire region, as it contributes to the influence of the city of Dakhla in terms of tourism and its economic recovery.
Originally from Dakhla, Haydala and the members of her team constitute one of the strong links of Sahraouiya and demonstrate throughout the competition an unfailing commitment, for the benefit of the success of the raid and the defense of associations with different social vocations.
