Raiders Sign Marcus Peters to One-Year Deal, Adding Strength to Secondary

In a move that bolsters their secondary, the Las Vegas Raiders have signed free agent cornerback Marcus Peters to a one-year contract. Multiple reports have confirmed the signing, which comes after Peters worked out for the Raiders on Monday.

The 30-year-old Peters, who previously played for the Baltimore Ravens, had visited the Raiders back in May. It was widely speculated that the team was keen on signing him before the start of training camp, and now they have made it official.

Peters showcased his resilience and determination last season when he returned from a torn anterior cruciate ligament to start in 13 games for the Ravens. Despite coming off a serious injury, Peters managed to deliver an impressive performance, tallying 47 tackles, an interception, a sack, and two fumble recoveries.

Prior to playing for the Ravens, Peters spent three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs before being traded to the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams, in turn, traded him to the Ravens during the 2019 season.

With three Pro Bowl selections and two appearances on the All-Pro team, Peters brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Raiders’ defense. Over the course of his career, he has accumulated 346 tackles, 32 interceptions, 92 pass breakups, 11 forced fumbles, and 10 fumble recoveries.

The addition of Peters strengthens the Raiders’ cornerback position and provides much-needed depth and skill to their secondary. With his ability to make game-changing plays and disrupt opponents’ passing game, Peters is a valuable asset for the team as they aim to make a push for the playoffs in the upcoming season.

Raiders fans can look forward to seeing Peters in action as training camp approaches and the team gears up for an exciting season ahead.
