New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to flag off the country’s first Vande Metro train today. Before that, the Railways has taken a big decision today. Vande Metro has been renamed as Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. The country’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will run between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. Earlier, the name of RRTS was changed from RapidX to Namo Bharat. The country’s first Namo Bharat train will run between Delhi and Meerut. Some of its sections have started. Modi will also flag off six Vande Bharat trains. The country’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will run between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. This train will operate only 6 days a week. Its service will not be available from Bhuj on Sunday every week, while its service will not be available from Ahmedabad on Saturday. On the way, it will stop at Anjar, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodia and Sabarmati. This train will leave Bhuj at 05.05 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 am. On return, this train will leave from Ahmedabad at 05:30 pm and reach Bhuj at 11:10 pm.

Vande Metro train will stop at 9 stations in this journey. The average halt time of this train at each station will be 2 minutes. This train will complete its journey in 5 hours 45 minutes. The fare list of Vande Metro train has also been released. The minimum fare in this will be Rs 30. Superfast surcharge, reservation charge, GST will also be payable on this. If you travel 50 km in this, then you will have to pay Rs 60 plus GST and other applicable charges. Above this, the basic fare will increase by Rs 1.20 for every kilometer. It is being said to be cheaper than the AC suburban running in Mumbai.

The Railway Ministry said that the Vande Metro train will have 12 coaches, with a seating capacity of 1,150 passengers. The Vande Metro train will depart from Bhuj and reach Ahmedabad, covering a distance of 359 km in 5.45 hours. Its regular service for passengers will start from Ahmedabad from September 17 and the fare per passenger for the entire journey will be Rs 455. The ministry said in its statement that while other metro trains cover only short distances, Vande Metro trains will connect peripheral cities from the center of the city. Vande Metro runs at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. Vande Metro trains are equipped with advanced safety systems like anti-collision ‘Kavach’.
