Aurangabad: On the instructions of East Central Railway Headquarters, Mega Drive was conducted at all the stations under Deendayal Upadhyay (DDU) Railway Division. During this period, railway tickets of passengers were checked from 06.00 am to 22.00 pm under Fortress Check at stations like DDU, Gaya, Sasaram, Dehri on Sone, Anugrah Narayan Road, Bhabua Road and Japla etc. All the division’s squads – static and sleeper ticket checking personnel, commercial inspectors, supervisors and all commercial officers were involved in the investigation.
1559 passengers were caught
Intensive checking mainly targeting all trains coming and going from Buxar-DDU section, Varanasi-DDU, Sasaram-DDU, Ara-Sasaram section, Garhwa Road-Dehri on Sone, Kiul-Gaya, Gomo-Gaya and Patna-Gaya section. Was done. During this period, along with premium and mail-express, passenger trains were also checked. The fine amount was recovered as per rules from the persons caught traveling without ticket or on improper ticket.

After checking at all the stations, those traveling without tickets and on irregular tickets were encouraged to travel with regular tickets. DDU Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Gupta said that according to the last information received till 6 pm, about 1559 ticketless and irregular passengers have been caught by DDU Division. An amount of approximately Rs 7 lakh 94 thousand has been recovered from them as fine. According to Railways, the mega drive is going on which will continue till 10 pm. This will continue in future also. On behalf of DDU Board, an appeal has been made to the passengers to travel with tickets.
