Nedumangad police have arrested a woman in a case of embezzling Rs 1 crore by offering her a job in the railways. Kala T., a native of Kulanada, Pathanamthitta. Nair was arrested. There are also complaints that he tried to take over the property by renting a house and living with the elderly. Nedumangad police have arrested 51-year-old Kala T. Nair in connection with a case in which he offered a job in the railways in 2017 and bought 15 sovereigns of gold and Rs 1 lakh from a Vattapara resident. It is learned that money has been extorted from several persons residing in Vembayam and Vattapara. Many people have approached the police with similar complaints after learning of Kala’s arrest.
Kala moved to Chalakudy after the scam and police received information that a similar scam had taken place there. Complaints have also been raised against the art of acquiring and living with elderly people who have retired from work and are living in isolation. The investigation has been expanded into complaints including this. The accused who was produced in the Nedumangad court was remanded.
