New Delhi : Monsoon rains are continuing in different parts of the country. Apart from Delhi NCR, rains are continuing from Uttarakhand to Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Maharashtra from Mumbai, Thane to Palghar. Flood conditions persist in Tripura. So far 24 people have lost their lives due to floods and landslides in the state. The central government has also announced help for Tripura. Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand, a village in Chamoli was completely washed away. Due to rains in Bihar, many rivers are flowing above the danger mark.
Delhi: Light rain predicted
The minimum temperature in the national capital on Saturday was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius. This is one degree less than the average temperature of this season. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information. The Meteorological Department said that the humidity level was recorded at 91 percent at 8.30 am. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy weather and light rain in the capital during the day. It said that the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius on Saturday. IMD said that in the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, Pitampura Observatory reported 70.5 mm, Ridge Observatory 37.6 mm and Delhi University Observatory reported 37 mm of rain.
Uttarakhand: Village washed away by heavy rains
Heavy rains continue to lash various parts of Uttarakhand. Heavy rains triggered landslides at several places, blocking the Badrinath, Kedarnath and Yamunotri national highways for traffic. Paganau, a remote village in Joshimath in Chamoli district of the state, was completely destroyed due to heavy rains in the wee hours of Saturday. Villagers, already living in fear, are now facing trouble as the landslide brings debris, huge boulders and even poisonous snakes and scorpions close to the houses. The situation has become more dire due to continuous landslides and cracks in the terrain that have been affecting the area since August last year. Four Nepali labourers died after being buried under the debris of a landslide from a hill near the helipad at Phata village on the way to Kedarnath in Rudraprayag district.

Mumbai: Orange alert for rain
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Mumbai, its neighbouring districts Thane and Palghar as well as many other parts of Maharashtra are likely to receive heavy rains in the next four to five days. On Friday, the weather department issued an orange alert forecasting heavy to very heavy rains in Konkan’s Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts from August 24.

Bihar: Heavy rain warning in 17 districts

Rajasthan: Period of heavy rain continues

Tripura: 24 dead so far due to floods and landslides
Two more people died in rain-related incidents in Tripura even as the flood situation improved, a senior official said.
