Soft Wheat‌ Production in Jeopardy

Soft wheat production is facing significant challenges this⁣ year. According to official ‍estimates from Agreste,⁤ the ⁣Ministry of Agriculture’s statistical arm,‍ the harvest is expected to reach 26.3 ‌million tons, a far cry from the 30 million tons anticipated earlier. ‌These disappointing figures align with the projections‌ of Argus Media, which predicts a meager production of 25.17 million tons, a staggering 10 million tons less than in 2023 and a ⁢27% decline from the five-year average. This would mark the worst‌ soft wheat harvest⁤ since 1983.
