Hundreds of trees were felled by the rain Ronaldo Silva/Estadão Conteúdo – 03.11.23 The Court of Auditors of the Municipality of São Paulo decided, this Wednesday (8), to open an administrative process to determine the responsibilities for the losses caused by the heavy rains , which reached the capital last Friday (3). The decision was taken unanimously by the five councilors. Since the storm, several neighborhoods in the city have completed more than 100 hours without electricity, mainly in the south and west zones. Many trees are still down in various parts of São Paulo and public services, such as schools, were impacted by the rain. According to the latest balance released by Enel, 11 thousand consumers are still without electricity. In total, 2.1 million customers were affected by the heavy rains. The president of Enel São Paulo, Max Lins, promised to fully normalize the electricity supply in São Paulo by the end of this Wednesday. The body gave a period of 15 days for the losses caused to the public coffers to be reported, in addition to the extraordinary expenses incurred by the City of São Paulo. The letter was sent to the Municipal Government Secretariat and the Special Secretariat for Climate Change. The letter requests details of expenditure on items such as: the resumption of routine provision of public services, release of public roads, resumption of basic infrastructure services and supply of personnel in municipal units. Meanwhile, the loss balance will need to inform the losses following the lack of electricity for products that necessarily require controlled and uninterrupted refrigeration in places such as hospitals, health centers and municipal schools.
