Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi affirmed that the joining of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the “BRICS” group will strengthen the principled orientations of this group, including opposition to American unilateralism.
Raisi said on the sidelines of the fifteenth meeting of the BRICS group in South Africa, during the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, that Iran’s membership in the BRICS will strengthen the principled approach of this group, including opposition to US unilateralism.
Referring to the current agreements between Iran and China, Raisi stressed the implementation of the agreements within the framework of the 25 years of strategic cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping also congratulated Iran on its entry into the BRICS group, and said: China is willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation and develop cooperation in various platforms to advance the process of multilateralism.
During the current visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to South Africa, Iran officially became a member of the BRICS group.
