Neurolite was founded in 2021 by Micha Braxton, CEO, and Eddie Ben-Ami, who serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). They were joined by Gil Shklersky, as a scientific founding partner. Additional employees in research, development, science, and neurology, who will join the 25 employees in Tel Aviv, Austin, and New York.
Neurolite aims to solve one of the most complex challenges in neurology, and that is the lack of objective metrics for neurological diseases. According to them, the indices today are so subjective that the difference between two different doctors who measure the same patient on the same day can reach a rate of 25% -30%, and there is a 30% probability of misdiagnosis of degenerative neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s.
She also explains that because there are no objective and sensitive indicators, only about 6% of the molecules nominated for drugs in the development of neurological diseases reach a final approval, a figure that is less than 50% than in the case of drugs for non-neurological diseases.
