Jodhpur: Vimala Devi, elder sister of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, died on Tuesday. It is being told that Vimala Devi was ill for some time, she breathed her last at the age of 95. According to the information received, the last rites of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s sister will be held on Wednesday. According to the information, the last rites of the former CM’s sister will be held in the crematorium of Rambagh Mali community of Jodhpur. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will also be present there to bid him last farewell.
Ashok Gehlot did not forget to tie Rakhi to his sister.
It is noteworthy that former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot used to respect his elder sister like his mother. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot used to come to get Rakhi tied on Rakshabandhan and Bhai Dooj. While in power, CM Gehlot had come to Jodhpur to tie Rakhi with his sister. While being the CM, he had to stay in Jaipur, but even amidst the busy schedule on Rakshabandhan and Bhai Dooj, former CM Ashok Gehlot used to come to Jodhpur to get Rakhi tied by his sister.
Vimala Devi was living at the house of nephew Jaswant Singh.
Not only this, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot used to take blessings of his sister Vimla Devi before contesting any kind of election. On Holi, Diwali or other festivals, he used to go to his elder sister Vimala Devi to seek blessings. It is being told that Vimala Devi was living at the residence of Chief Minister Gehlot’s nephew Jaswant Singh Kachhwaha.
