The petition sought an order directing Rajinikanth to take action against Kasturi Raja for misusing his name as he had said that he was not involved in the loan taken by Kasturi Raja in the ongoing case related to the Czech fraud.
The case was dismissed and a separate judge ordered Mukund Chand Potra to pay a fine of Rs 25,000.
Mukundchand Bodra, who had appealed against the order of the special judge, has disappeared and the High Court has allowed his son Kagan Bodra to continue the case.
During the hearing of the case, Advocate S. on behalf of Director Kasturi Raja. Haja Moideen Kishti on behalf of actor Rajinikanth. Ravichandran appeared.
The lawyer who appeared for Director Kasturi Raja stated that he had borrowed only 10 lakh rupees from Potra and had repaid the amount and that Potra himself had written on a blank piece of paper that he would pay Rajini if he did not pay.
Bothra argued that he had agreed to the police investigation and the lower court hearing.
Kagan Potra has not appeared since the case came up for hearing in June 2021 and February 2022.
When the case came up for hearing again in a session comprising Justices M Thuraisamy and TV Tamilchelvi, Kagan Bodra did not appear.
Subsequently, Kagan Potra’s appeal was dismissed on the ground that it was clear that the petitioner had no intention of pursuing the case by not appearing continuously during the hearing.
