Rajmohan
Minister Vasavan intervened following reports that there was no one to take over the body of Rajmohan, who played the lead role in the 1967 film ‘Indulekha’. Acting on the minister’s instructions, the film academy and the social justice department have expedited the process.
The first edition of Chanthu Menon’s novel was released in 1896. A play titled ‘Indulekha’ was presented by National Club at VJT Hall, Thiruvananthapuram. Further demonstrations were held in Madras (1905) and Kozhikode (1911). In 1967, Kalanilayam Krishnan Nair’s novel was adapted into a film of the same name. Scripted by Vaikam Chandrasekaran Nair, the film featured Krishnan Nair’s son-in-law Rajmohan as Madhavan and Sreekala as Indulekha.
Summary: Actor Rajmohan, who passed away in Thiruvananthapuram, shall be cremated under the aegis of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on July 21, 2022. There were reports of the mortal remains being kept in the mortuary with none to stake a claim. Rajmohan is known to have played lead in the movie Indulekha, based on the novel of the same name
