Mumbai: BJP coup in Maharashtra and Haryana in Rajya Sabha elections The BJP won 8 of the 16 seats up for grabs. The NDA won both the seats in Haryana. The BJP won 3 seats each in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The Congress won five seats.
In Haryana, Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi voted for the BJP. The Congress has made it clear that it will investigate the defeat in Haryana. At the same time, the vote of the Shiv Sena MLA in Maharashtra was invalid. The NCP and the Shiv Sena won one seat each in Maharashtra. Ajay Maken, a senior Congress leader from Haryana, was the loser.
BJP wins triangular contest in Karnataka; JDS criticizes Congress B team
Nirmala Sitharaman from Karnataka and Congress candidate Jairam Ramesh won the Rajya Sabha seat. The BJP won the fourth seat in the triangular contest. BJP candidate Lehar Singh Siroya won the fourth seat, which moved to preferential voting. Three BJP candidates, including Nirmala Sitharaman and actor Jaggish, won. In the Congress, which fielded two candidates, only Jairam Ramesh won. Nirmala Sitharaman and Jairam Ramesh got 46 votes each. Congress wins Rajya Sabha polls in Rajasthan The Congress won all the three crucial seats in Rajasthan. In Haryana, the announcement of results will be delayed. Counting is also delayed in Maharashtra. The counting of votes will start only after the recommendation of the Election Commission. This comes after the BJP approached the Election Commission seeking invalidation of three votes of the ruling alliance. In Karnataka, the Congress has approached the Election Commission against the Election Commission’s rejection of a complaint that JDS MLA HD Devanna had declared his vote.

In both cases, the BJP’s calculation that independent media owners could win seats with the support of smaller parties did not work in Rajasthan. However, the BJP won the sixth seat in Maharashtra after the Shiv Sena member’s vote was invalidated in the Shiv Sena – BJP battle. The Shiv Sena hopes to win the seat if it gets the full votes of Mahavikas Aghadi. But the MLA in the camp himself was wrong. NCP leaders Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh did not vote as they were not granted bail in the ED and CBI cases.
