Rajya Sabha member PT Usha will contest for the post of President of the Indian Olympic Association

Olympian P.T.Usha said that he will run for the post of president of the Indian Olympic Association. A nomination form will be issued for this purpose. PT Usha said that they are competing with the support of athletes and national federations.

The contesting information was announced through Facebook after the Returning Officer issued the notification for the selection of the members of the Executive Council including the President.

The process of conducting the election started last Wednesday. Those who want to participate in the election on December 10 can submit nomination papers directly from November 25 to 27. Name can be withdrawn from December 1st to 3rd. PT Usha is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha.

PT Usha is an athlete who has won more than 100 international medals and more than 1000 national medals in a career spanning 14 years. Usha held the observer status of Asian Athletics Federation and Indian Athletics Federation.

PT Usha has many epithets like Paioli Express, Queen of Indian Track and Field. Born on June 27, 1964 to EVM Paithal and TV Lakshmi, Usha was emerging as a legend in the history of Indian sports in Pilavullakandi Thekkeparam.
