Ralf Dümmel
The TV investor is looking for participants for its program
Ralf Dümmel goes his own way: In his new TV show, the “Lion’s Den” investor wants to help realize product ideas.
Ralf Dümmel (57) becomes self-employed, so to speak: The “Lions’ Den” investor wants to help participants at a new trade fair “turn their ideas or products into a success story”. Dümmel announced on Friday evening (November 15) on Instagram: ”I am planning a new television format that has never existed before in this form.”
The idea is enough for the application
In the new show he wants to help people “put your idea, your product, on the shelf.” We are not looking for start-ups or companies; we are not looking for a sophisticated business plan or necessarily a prototype. You can apply even if “maybe you just have the idea in your head”, Dümmel enthusiastically assures in his announcement video. And he promises: “My entire team and I will help with the implementation.”
The entrepreneur has not yet revealed what the new program will be called or on which channel it will be broadcast. However, the first contact with the new show seems to be really simple as promised: if you follow the link for the application that Dümmel published on Instagram, a WhatsApp chat with the name “Ideenfabrik” opens.
Dümmel has been part of “The Lions’ Den” for 13 seasons. And apparently the entrepreneur has become a favorite of the audience at the investor show, as the “Bild” of production environments I wish I had experimented. Accordingly, Dümmel is also particularly hardworking: he is said to be the lion with the most television missions in the jury. According to the newspaper, the start date of the new show has not yet been set.

How does Ralf Dümmel plan to support participants in developing their product ideas during the show?
Interview: Ralf Dümmel’s New Venture in Product Innovation
Editor of Time.news (E): Welcome, everyone! Today, we have the pleasure of speaking with Ralf Dümmel, a prominent investor from the hit show ”Lions’ Den”. Ralf, you recently announced a new TV show dedicated to helping people turn their ideas into successful products. What motivated you to embark on this venture?
Ralf Dümmel (R): Thank you for having me! I’ve always been passionate about innovation and creativity. I realized that many great ideas never see the light of day simply because the inventors don’t have the resources or guidance to bring them to fruition. This new format will provide a platform for these individuals to showcase their ideas and get the support they need to succeed.
E: That’s fascinating! In your announcement, you mentioned that you’re not looking for startups or companies. So, what kind of participants are you hoping to attract to your show?
R: Exactly! I want to focus on individuals with innovative ideas—anyone from a stay-at-home parent with a clever product idea to an aspiring inventor. It’s all about creativity and potential. They don’t need a sophisticated business plan or even a prototype; just a brilliant idea to start with!
E: It sounds like a unique opportunity for everyday people. How will the show guide participants in developing their ideas?
R: The format is designed to be very hands-on. We will work closely with each participant, providing mentorship, resources, and access to a network of experts who can help refine and actualize their concepts. My goal is to empower them, helping them think about their product, market it, and eventually get it on the shelves.
E: That sounds incredibly supportive. How do you expect this show to differ from traditional pitch programs?
R: Well, while many programs focus solely on pitches, we’re taking a more holistic approach. It’s not just about convincing an investor; it’s about actual development and realizing the full potential of an idea. I want each participant to leave with tangible progress, whether it’s refining their concept or starting to build a prototype.
E: This sounds like a game-changer in the realm of product development. What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to apply because they don’t think their idea is “good enough”?
R: Every successful product started as an idea that someone believed in. My advice would be simple: if you have an idea that excites you, go for it! The beauty of innovation is that it often comes from unexpected places. Our show is the perfect opportunity to explore that potential without fear of judgment.
E: I think that’s very encouraging for many people! In terms of logistics, when can viewers expect the first episodes to air, and how can aspiring inventors apply?
R: We’re currently in the planning stages, aiming for a launch later this year. All application details will be shared on my social media platforms and the show’s official page. I encourage anyone with an idea to keep an eye out and apply!
E: Thank you so much for sharing your vision with us, Ralf! We can’t wait to see how this new venture unfolds and the incredible stories that will emerge from it.
R: Thank you! I’m excited to embark on this journey and support future innovators. Let’s make some dreams a reality!
