Cora Schumacher follows up. Ralf Schumacher’s ex-wife rages against his love interview with Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne.
In July, Ralf Schumacher celebrated his coming out and introduced his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne on Instagram. Many people came forward with congratulations, but his ex-wife Cora Schumacher was very disappointed. His coming out surprised her and she had not been informed. A public exchange of blows followed, which Ralf Schumacher and his new partner have now commented on in a love interview – thereby triggering another reaction from Cora Schumacher.
In a teaser for an RTL interview that has not yet been broadcast, Ralf Schumacher asserted that he did not have a marriage of convenience with his ex-wife. Critics, as well as Cora Schumacher herself, had previously questioned this. The former racing driver also now says that he invited Cora Schumacher to visit him and his partner in Saint-Tropez last year to inform her about their relationship. Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne also reported that when asked, he told her: “Yes, we are a couple.”
Cora Schumacher has now confirmed this, but in her reaction to the RTL interview she once again lashes out at her ex-husband. “I am grateful that at least Étienne told me the truth,” she writes in an Instagram story. Bousquet-Cassagne is “a fine guy.”
In the story, she shares a WhatsApp chat history between her and Ralf Schumacher from April 2023. In the conversation, which probably took place before her visit to Saint-Tropez, she asks her ex-husband: “Why is Étienne here all the time? Does he live there?” His answer: “Yes, he’s always with me and responsible for everything 24/7. It’s become too much, otherwise I forget half of it.” However, it remains unclear whether Ralf Schumacher personally informed the 47-year-old about his relationship with Bousquet-Cassagne after her arrival in Saint-Tropez.
“I suspect that Étienne may not even know that Ralf introduced him to me as an assistant. This whole disappointment, this game of hide-and-seek – it is deeply disappointing and leaves me with nothing but wounds,” writes Cora Schumacher in the Instagram story. In it, she also shares a document that shows that she is currently in legal conflict with Ralf Schumacher.
The reason for this is an old Instagram story by Cora Schumacher from the beginning of September, in which she wrote: “I’m now going to make up for what he has burdened me with: namely, suing me for ten years until the roof comes off. Legal fees. So that I don’t tell anyone that at the end of the marriage I found out that the Danube is not an island. And that he was gay the whole time and I’m not crazy.”
Ralf Schumacher’s lawyers have now described the allegations as “untrue” in a cease and desist letter. Cora Schumacher shared the letter publicly in her Instagram story and raged: “He is doing a happy love interview and I am getting a ‘happy cease and desist letter’ at the same time.” The paper speaks of a statement of fact. “It is one of the most serious impairments of a personality to assert untruths,” it says.
“And I thought we live in a constitutional state and not a fairytale land,” Cora Schumacher reacts. In her opinion, it is a violation of personality “if you don’t tell the truth that I’m not supposed to tell?” Ralf Schumacher himself explained in his current RTL interview that Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne is the first male partner he has ever been with. “Of course I tried it out somehow,” he replied when asked whether he had been physically close to other men before. He was married to Cora Schumacher from 2001 to 2015. However, they had been living separately since 2009.
