The Rally Argentina 2023, with scores for the Argentine Rally and Codasur, delivered surprises that changed the course of the race. Thus, Fabrizio Zaldivar (Hyundai), who dominated on Friday, this Saturday was complicated by problems with the rear suspension that gradually relegated him to the point of finishing 11th overall.

Its delay allowed three highly relevant pilots to show themselves in all their magnitude. One of them was Marcos Ligato (Citroën C3) who, in his final race, after being in the top three, hit the car in the second pass and ended up retiring.

The other was Miguel Baldoni (Skoda), who showed all his potential by winning stages. But the exclusive figure was the multiple champion Federico Villagra, making his debut with the Hyundai that he rented from Mario Baldo.

The “Coyote”, hardly knowing the car, showed all his virtuosity to win the stage and even find himself favored by fortune, since after finishing the stage and passing the respective banner, the Hyundai suddenly stopped.

A battery cable was shorted, Villagra repaired it and was able to reach the end as the winner, with a net time of 1h11m39s8/10. He was thus able to overcome Miguel Baldoni (Skoda) by 18s4 / 10 and Alejandro Cancio (Skoda) by 19s9 / 10.

Another surprise was given by the Concordia driver, Nadia Cutro (Toyota Yaris), winning among the Maxi Rally with a net time of 1h20m48s1/10. She surpassed César Folledo (VW-Gol) by 1s5/10 and Miguel Patat (VW-Gol) by 14s2/10.

For his part, in RC3 Junior, Sergio Daparte (VW-Gol) leads with a net time of 1h28m33s. He is followed by Carlos Cataldo (Toyota Yaris) at 48s4/10 and Ernesto Lord (VW-Gol) at 4m13s2/10.

Among the drivers in the new RC4 division, Martín Maisonnave (Peugeot 208) is winning with an advantage of 1m14s8/10 over Damián Ibarra (Peugeot 208). Finally among the RC5, the bid for victory is between Nicolás González and Manuel Torrás from Córdoba, with two Ford Fiestas.

General classification: 1st) Federico Villagra-Klus (Hyundai i20N) 1h11m39s8/10, 2nd) Miguel Baldoni-Franchello (Skoda) at 18s4/10, 3rd) Alejandro Cancio-Cagnotti (Skoda) at 19s9/10, 4th) Gerónimo Padilla- N.Garcia at 52s00, 5th) Martin Scuncio-Román (Skoda) at 56s3/10, 6th) Augusto Bestard (VW-Gol GTI) 1m00s3/10, 7th) Gustavo Saba-Mussano (VW-Gol GTI) at 1m10s3/10 , 8th) Miguel Zaldivar-Hernández (VW-Gol GTI) at 1m56s6/10, 9th) Agustin Alonso (VW-Gol GTi) at 2m19s6/19 and 10th) Augusto D´’agostini-Carrera (Skoda) at 2m29s1/10.
