Tehran: Thousands of people participated in a rally held yesterday in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in support of the headscarf worn by women called ‘Hijab’.
Protests erupted in Iran recently after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini fell into a coma and later died after being detained by Iranian morality police for not wearing a headscarf. At least 17 people were killed when authorities tried to disperse the protesters.
Officials said that the rally was held to condemn those plotting against the religion.
