“Youth, innovation and entrepreneurship: levers for the development of African performing arts industries” is the theme chosen for this cultural event of international scope which opens this Saturday.
On this occasion, RAM organized, Friday evening in Abidjan, a gala dinner in the presence of the Ivorian Minister of Culture and Francophonie, representatives of the Moroccan embassy in Côte d’Ivoire and Royal Air. Morocco, and several Ivorian and Moroccan personalities from various backgrounds.
Speaking on this occasion, the regional representative of Royal Air Maroc in Ivory Coast, Mohamed Babou, emphasized the long-lasting partnership linking RAM for many years to this major cultural event, specifying that “the collaboration with MASA goes beyond a simple sponsorship: it symbolizes the philosophy of Royal Air Maroc, as a deeply African company.
Noting that Royal Air Maroc is a carrier with international ambitions which supports its country and its continent towards progress, Mr. Babou stressed that like MASA, by connecting Africa to the world, Royal Air Maroc also intends to contribute to giving wings to creators and promote internationally the cultural wealth of the continent and its talents which are increasingly recognized throughout the world.
In this sense, he recalled that for many years, “we have been investing alongside the biggest African cultural events, in different areas, by supporting major continental events such as the Ouagadougou African Cinema Festival, the Biennale of Dakar, that of Lagos, the Bamako Photography Biennale, or even the prestigious Marrakech international film festival.
As part of Morocco’s policy in Africa initiated under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, “our common ambition, whether we are economic operators, entrepreneurs or artists, is to truly be the bearers of identity and African dream”, he concluded.
For her part, the Ivorian Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Françoise Remarck, highlighted the excellence of the relations uniting Morocco and Ivory Coast as well as the two brother peoples.
She also welcomed the partnership between Royal Air Maroc and MASA, affirming that this collaboration contributes to the sustainability and promotion of this festival, and to the encouragement of young African talents.
A cultural biennial of international scope, the MASA represents a framework for promotion, meetings, dissemination, development and professionalization of the performing arts.
According to the general management of the Abidjan Arts and Entertainment Market, Rwanda is the guest country of honor for the 13th edition, while the Republic of Korea has been selected as a “special guest country”.
