On board a Dreamliner, a symbol of comfort and safety, the approximately 300 passengers were warmly welcomed at Guarulhos international airport. The aircraft was treated to the traditional Water Salute, during a ceremony which brought together Brazilian tourism officials and stakeholders.
The reopening of this strategic link, connecting the two economic capitals, responds to growing demand from businessmen and tourists on both sides of the Atlantic. It illustrates the vitality of the long-standing partnership between Morocco and Brazil, which continues to grow and grow.
Operated with three weekly flights,the route offers departures from Casablanca on Mondays,Thursdays and saturdays at 4:40 p.m. for an arrival in Sao paulo at 10:20 p.m. (local time).Return flights leave the Paulista capital every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 12:25 a.m.,reaching Casablanca at 1:15 p.m.
The journeys are provided by boeing 787 Dreamliners, new generation aircraft recognized for their high level of comfort and safety and their low carbon footprint.
The codeshare agreement signed with GOL Linhas Aéreas, the main Brazilian airline, will expand connectivity to other cities in Brazil and morocco, underlined Othman Baba, regional director of RAM, in a statement at the MAP.
He also indicated that passengers will be able, from the casablanca hub, to access a network of 97 destinations around the world, including Europe, Africa, the middle East, and soon Asia, with imminent opening of a connection to Beijing.
“Moroccans, fond of new destinations, discover a engaging land in Brazil, while Brazilians, passionate travelers, are notably seduced by the tourist attractions of Morocco. Marrakech, the other imperial cities and the landscapes of the south of the Kingdom are shaping up to be key destinations that they dream of exploring,” noted Mr. Baba.
Passengers on the inaugural flight did not hide their enthusiasm, welcoming a recovery which promises to simplify travel for tourist and professional trips and therefore to intensify human, economic and cultural exchanges between Morocco and Brazil.
The relaunch of this service is also part of the national company’s mobilization strategy to support the Kingdom’s major projects, in particular the 2030 Football World Cup, organized jointly by Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
Brazilian football fans will be able to easily reach the three host countries via the Casablanca hub.
