Ramadan: Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed praises the One Billion Meals initiative

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, praised the One Billion Meals initiative in connection with Ramadan. The UAE has launched the One Billion Meals initiative to provide food assistance to the poor and malnourished in 50 countries.

The initiative was initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed tweeted that the initiative was a testament to the country’s humanitarian value in helping those in distress.

The project collected 76 million meals in six days. Organized by Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the initiative provides food assistance to the destitute and malnourished in 50 countries, particularly vulnerable children, refugees, deportees and victims of disasters and crises.
