The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree, for his “great contribution to the socio-economic development of the region and many years of conscientious work.” A photo of the corresponding decree of the President of the Russian Federation was published on Instagram by the Minister of the Republic for National Policy, External Relations, Press and Information Akhmed Dudayev.

Ramzan Kadyrov has been awarded the title of Hero of Russia since 2004 (for courage and heroism displayed in the performance of his official duty in 2004), in 2015 Vladimir Putin awarded him the Order of Honor “for labor success”, in 2020 he was awarded the title of Major General. Also, Mr. Kadyrov is the owner of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, the Order of Courage, as well as – twice – the medal for excellence in maintaining public order. In April 2021, Ramzan Kadyrova was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
