Ramzi Khoury, head of the Higher Presidential Committee to follow up on church affairs in occupied Palestine, warned of a real danger threatening the Palestinian Christian existenceand Christian sanctities as a result of the practices of the Israeli occupation and its continuous attacks, once again calling on the international community to take a firm and serious stance to stop these violations.

WAFA Agency stated that Khoury called, in letters to all churches of the world, to work effectively, and to put pressure on their governments to implement United Nations resolutions, and to save the Christian presence in occupied Palestine, noting that Christians are subjected to many pressures through the Israeli occupation’s restrictions on them while practicing their religious rituals, or With the escalating violations of Christian and even Islamic sanctities by settlers.

Khoury pointed out that the occupation imposed restrictions on Christians prior to Easter, Palm Sunday, and Saturday of Light, by reducing the number of participants in the celebrations, and setting up barriers to impede their access to the places of celebrations, as well as harassing worshipers and pilgrims inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in occupied Jerusalem, assaulting them, and preventing large numbers of them from entering. Khoury referred to the repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by settlers and the occupation forces, and the attacks on worshipers and those who are secluded in it during the blessed month of Ramadan, stressing that the alarm warns of a real threat to the Palestinian Christian presence, which requires serious and rapid action at all levels to stabilize this presence and strengthen its steadfastness.
