Ranbir Kapoor’s Film ‘Animal’ Roars at Box Office, Collects ₹ 398.53 Crore

Ranbir Kapoor’s latest film ‘Animal’ is proving to be a massive success at the box office, with the movie raking in a staggering ₹ 37 crore on day 9 of its release. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has now collected a total of ₹ 398.53 crore across languages at the Indian box office, reported Sacnilk.

The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri, has been a hit with audiences despite its lengthy runtime of 3+ hours. Fans have been particularly drawn to Ranbir’s action-packed avatar and Bobby Deol’s portrayal of the antagonist in the film.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to declare the film’s performance, stating, “Sensational Packs an extraordinary total in Week 1…Third biggest *7 days* of all time. Biggest *7-day* total for a film released on non-holiday. Biggest *7-day* total for a film that faced a clash with another film. Highest grossing ‘A’ certified film. All languages total: ₹ 338.63 crore Nett BOC.”

Despite its box office success, the film has received mixed reviews from critics. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave ‘Animal’ 1.5 stars, criticizing its “sickeningly violent” nature and problematic storyline. He did, however, praise Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor’s performances in the film.

‘Animal’ opened to theatres on December 1, going head-to-head with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the ticket window. It will be interesting to see if the film can maintain its momentum and continue its successful run at the box office.
