Senator Rand Paul insisted that the advent of this world government would mean the end of democracy, which would be replaced by an “elitist” bureaucracy: “It would be a world government that would not allow you to exercise any right to vote. The 59-year-old Republican goes on to point out that people who denounced the world governance project were previously called “conspiracies”: “They used to call people who talked about world government, they used to say , “oh, it’s a conspiracy theory”. We always said: “No. This is the mission they openly gave themselves”. They say so at every meeting,” explains the Kentucky senator, who warns of the consequences of the loss of sovereignty that would accompany the implementation of this project: “The absence of sovereignty means the absence of freedom. And it also means no responsibility [devant les administrés]explains the senator who recalls that “it is completely antithetical to everything that our country represents”.

With a view to “fighting the next pandemic” and “reducing carbon emissions”, the senator warns of the inclinations of Davos members to set up a digital population surveillance system: “Privacy is not a concern for such people. […] They want to follow everyone with a QR Code”. And to conclude: “It is very worrying”.
