The government led by President Ranil Wickremesinghe will only be in office for another six months. Some people in the ruling party are trying to bring former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa back into politics for their short term needs, said Vasudeva Nanayakkara, leader of the Left Democratic Front.
He mentioned the above in a statement to the media following a meeting with political party leaders at the Sri Lankan Communist Party office.
He further stated,
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has not yet presented a policy plan for the economic crisis.
The middle class will face the worst possible crisis when the IMF imposes strict conditions. Electricity and water supply charges have been hiked as per monetary fund conditions. Some other services will be hiked in the coming days.
The government led by President Ranil Wickremesinghe will remain in office for a period of 06 months only.
No problem can be solved without the support of the people. The people of the country should be given an opportunity to choose their government.
